A Plea for Sahara – Left to Die, Now Fighting to Live See her capture here: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1252092425897413 Sahara’s story is one of heartbreak, survival, and hope. This beautiful red Doberman was cruelly dumped at a known dog dumping ground near the Mexican border—left to fend for herself in a place where many never make it out. Thankfully, with the help of Yaqui Animal Rescue, Sahara and her loyal companion, a shepherd named Boa, were safely captured and brought into our care. From the moment we got her, it was clear Sahara had suffered immensely. We rushed her to an emergency vet, where she was diagnosed with heartworm, anaplasmosis, and a severe skin infection—a heartbreaking reality for a dog who had already been through so much. She has now started treatment with antibiotics and prednisone, taking her first steps toward healing. And in a beautiful act of kindness, a local groomer gave her a much-needed bath and trim—her first taste of the love she should have always known. But Sahara’s journey is far from over. Her medical care will be long and costly, and she has a tough road ahead. We refuse to let her story end in suffering and neglect. She was abandoned once, but never again. She will never have to search for safety in an unsafe place—because from now on, she is safe, she is loved, and she will never be forgotten. After she recovers from heartworm treatment, Sahara will be spayed so she will never have to endure the burden of having puppies again, as it appears she has in the past. We need your help to make her well again. Will you help Sahara heal? Every dollar makes a difference in covering her ongoing vet bills, medications, and heartworm treatment. Please consider donating today and be part of her transformation from discarded to cherished. Let’s show her that her life matters. Donate now – because Sahara deserves a second chance. She was left behind, but we will never leave her.
