Adoption pending! Puppy Sherman is a  young Dober-boy who is looking for love and ready to give love!!!! Sherman would make the perfect therapy dog!! This poor little guy was the adopted in February at 8 weeks and severely mauled by another dog. He suffered a broken jaw, eye socket, and nasal cavity.  The people who adopted him could not afford to get him the vet care he needed and surrendered him back to UDR so he could get the care he needed. Currently his Veterinarian care team at the University of Minnesota is very pleased with how he has healed to this point! He is super smart, food motivated, all potty and crate trained, very willing to learn new things. Sherman is bouncy and happy considering all he has been through and would make an excellent therapy dog as others can relate to him. Sherman has suffered some vision loss in one of his eyes, the vets think he can see shadows on the one side. His eye socket has healed but his head is a little mis-shapen due to the injuries.  Don't feel sorry for him though as he is smart as a whip! Sherman has been attending doggy daycare and loves all his furry pals! He is working on obedience skills too. He knows sit, shake, down. Sherman loves to go for car rides and sits nicely in the back when out for a drive.

All potential adopters must fill out  the adoption application. Please read our adoption policies page in its entirety before filling out application-failure to do so may delay the adoption process. Please answer all questions on the application, failure to do so may result in your application being denied. We do not adopt on a first come first serve basis but what is the best fit for our dogs.  We do give preference to homes with fenced yards. Puppies must live in homes with fenced yards. Those with no fencing must have a plan in place for daily activity and bathroom breaks for adult dogs. With the exception of Meet and Greets, y ou will not be able to meet our adoptable animals until the adoption application is submitted online and the home visit is completed. We will not place adult rescue dogs in homes with young children under 6 years old, with the exception of puppies 6 months and under, we will adopt to families with children under 6 years old, but a fenced yard is mandatory. Our dogs must live indoors with their humans and never left outdoors alone or in a kennel or yard unattended. You must be willing to use a crate and sign up for formal obedience classes. You must be 21 and own your home. We will not adopt outside of the USA. We will not ship our dogs. We will not adopt to anyone charged or convicted of animal abuse, child abuse, any type of felony.
